Old trees disappear from the landscape

Landscape, alleys, fields:

While the share of vegetation, park and garden areas, is still an „obligatory“ part of the city’s urban planning, alleys, otherwise also linear vegetation, are slowly and inconspicuously disappearing from it. In the same way, it also disappears from the free landscape, where this loss is more noticeable, because the landscape is so desolate. Both are to blame for the civilizational trend of increasing dimensions, scales, quantities and often speeds, especially automobile traffic, and also the separation and eventual exclusion of pedestrian or classic standard traffic.

Forests:

In today’s commercial forests, only a few hollow, old or dead trees remain. The lack of nesting possibilities, food sources and shelters can be serious not only for birds. A number of forest species have therefore become rare and endangered.

Different reasons, same outcome

The unification and intensification of farming in the countryside has become fatal for many species. And not only in terms of the wealth of species, today we are also observing a drastic decrease in the number of individuals.

Large-scale felling and removal of wood from forests

Forest monocultures

Some people find dead trees unattractive, others dangerous, but they are absolutely necessary not only for birds, but also for invertebrates, as well as for fungi and lichens.

Unification of fields

Veteran trees deserve our protection

Few of the original trees were preserved in the fields.

A total solution to the issue of tree safety around the road.

Due to current management, forests often suffer from a lack of not only veteran trees, but also wood material.

The biggest problem in the parks is the absence of young trees.

Worried about the safety of a veteran tree for its surroundings, we often look for a more radical solution than necessary „just to be sure“.
